Mike Cool

Mike Cool is the manager of Santee Cooper’s economic development team, a group that oversees the administration of economic development programs and economic development projects in the utility’s direct service territory. The team also assists the South Carolina Power Team and other economic development organizations located in Santee Cooper’s indirect service territories across the state.

With over 27 years of electric and natural gas utility experience, Mike uses his knowledge of bulk power, marketing and new business development at both the retail and commercial levels. After earning his business degree from West Virginia University and a master of business administration degree from Georgia Southern University, Mike became proficient in the industry by working for several utilities on the eastern interconnect. Currently, Mike is a member of the board of directors for North East Strategic Alliance, Georgetown Alliance, and the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation.
