Santee Cooper Update: Pinopolis Lock to Close at Noon Today, Myrtle Beach Retail Office Will Be Closed Tomorrow

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Pinopolis Lock at Santee Cooper’s Jefferies Hydroelectric Station on Lake Moultrie will close at noon today, in advance of winds arriving from Hurricane Dorian. The lock will remain closed until further notice.
Also, Santee Cooper’s customer service office in Myrtle Beach, located at 1703 Oak St., will be closed tomorrow due to expected inclement weather from Dorian. Santee Cooper’s customer service office in Moncks Corner is expected to be open for normal business at this point.
Santee Cooper employees, along with dozens of crews here from other public power utilities, will be out restoring outages as soon as they can safely work after the storm passes. That puts more than 800 people on power restoration efforts across our system. Please note: crews cannot safely work outside or be in bucket trucks when wind speeds exceed 35 mph.
Customers can report outages at 1-888-769-7688 or www.santeecooper.com/stormcenter. Additionally, they can follow Santee Cooper on Facebook or Twitter for storm-related news and developments.
